An Intimate Puerto Vallarta Wedding
Tandy & Charl : An Intimate Puerto Vallarta Wedding
Tandy and Charl had a small, intimate wedding at a beautiful restaurant on the Puerto Vallarta Malecon. As the sun was setting as they enjoyed the company of just a few close friends who joined to celebrate.
The bride, Tandy, contacted me asking about my services to photograph an elopement style wedding in Puerto Vallarta just a few months away. She told me that her and fiancé, Charl, would be traveling from South Africa for a vacation and that she had dreamed of a tropical wedding that would be perfect for Mexico. I was hooked! A sweet couple venturing far away from home for an intimate wedding at sunset on the beach? What's not to love?
Flash forward a few months and I met Tandy & Charl one afternoon in Sayulita. Tandy and I had been communicating before she arrived and she told me "I just want photos like these (examples of my work) where do I need to get married so it looks like this?". I suggested several spots for her and Charl to look at in Sayulita but assured her, "This is Mexico! We can find palms trees and great light just about anywhere!". They both really loved their visit to Sayulita and felt the town had the right vibe for their nuptials- the only problem was... they were planning to get married in a week! With no venue set for the big day, we decided not to panic. Charl's step father owned a beautiful condo on the water in Puerto Vallarta where they had been staying and we could always use the gardens for their ceremony. So we made it a plan!
Flash forward a week and it was the big day! The couple had arranged a beautiful simple ceremony to take place at Restaurante Oscar's on the South end of the Puerto Vallarta Malecon just walking distance from the Molino de Agua condos.
I started my day meeting Tandy as she was finishing hair and make up at a local salon. The nerves were starting to set in and she was a bit tearful to be starting this special day without her mom and sister who were back home in South Africa. I assured her that Charl and I were here for her and this was still going to be a wonderful day just about the two of them and their love.
Tandy brought her dress from SA- the sheer bodice and back with flowy A Line skirt looked incredible!
Ever the relaxed groom, Charl, was just amazing throughout the whole day! He was so supportive of his bride to be and made every effort to make sure she had everything she could for their special day.
The ceremony took place on the lawn of Restaurante Oscar's just next to the ocean. A small group of 6 friends and family watched as the couple took their vows and signed their marriage license. The sun was setting over the water as on lookers from the boardwalk stopped to take a peak. Tandy's reactions during the ceremony were priceless, smiles as she walked down the aisle, tears as she said her vows and laughs as she married the love of her life. Carl just looked at his bride with a sparkle in his eye and slight smile on his face and we could all see how proud he was to be there holding her hand.
After the ceremony, the couple, friends and family enjoyed an intimate dinner fit with details of their Mexican fiesta. The His and Hers sombreros were too cute!
The sweet couple and I found a few moments as the sun went down to sneak away and get a few more shots. The sun was low and the ocean was shimmering as walked along the Puerto Vallarta beach capturing just a few more special moments from their beautiful day.
Thank you Tandy & Charl for asking me to part of this your beautiful ceremony!
