Fall Maternity Session
Olivia contacted me in the summer asking about aspen season. She recently found out she was pregnant and was dreaming of a fall session with the beautiful leaves! So we made a tentative plan for September and crossed our fingers for a good aspen season! If the aspens were good we could have the perfect Breckenridge Fall Session! Aspen season happens every year in Colorado when the aspen tree leaves turn a gorgeous yellow! People come from all over the world to see the mountains covered in gold. Some season are better than others and a good season is not a guarantee. The depth of color and amount of trees who survive depend a lot on the weather and rain fall during the summer. Luckily 2020 was a good year and in late September the leaves began to turn.
Breckenridge Fall Session
Olivia & Joe had both lived in Colorado for several years but had never taken photos in the mountains. Olivia asked me for the perfect spot where we might get some of the aspen gold but also a mountain feel. Luckily I found a gorgeous spot with the best of both worlds for this Breckenridge fall session!
This is one of my favorite (somewhat) secret spots in Breckenridge on the edge of Lake Dillon. The water’s edge and the mountain backdrop always transport me to another place. Olivia & Joe brought along a pair of tiny boat shoes to include their coming baby boy in our session. Part couple’s session, part maternity, this was one of my favorites! Maternity can be just as much about the couple. Personally, I prefer maternity to be an extension of a couple’s session with a slight focus on the baby bump. It’s a classic and classy way to capture such special for a couple!
