Aly & Brady
Denver, Colorado
Aly & Brady wanted to keep it close to home to celebrate their engagement. We decided on a local park in the foothills for their Denver Engagement Session! I love driving up to the mountain towns of Vail, Breckenridge and even Aspen but staying close to home can be just as much fun! It always warms my heart to have a couple chose something meaningful for them. I encourage all my couples to chose things that feel most like them or their relationship. After all, an engagement session is a reflection of your relationship up to this point and for forever after.

A&B and I chose a beautiful fall afternoon. I have to be honest, some times I get a little down with how brown Colorado can get outside of summer. But then I see photos like these and I remember- it’s still so beautiful! During fall and winter months it’s actually a great time for photos because the dry ground and snow are amazing light reflectors! I just love how the earth tones really shine in these photos!
At this session I decided to try something new! This year I played with new cameras and film and getting my clients more involved with the process. With A&B I brought along an old Holga film camera that I’ve had for 15 years. Holga was never designed to be a “nice” camera. It was designed to be a lomography camera which is used for “street art” style photography. I brought along the Holga and some black and white film and we experimented! One of my favorite shots is the double exposure of the couple and the mountains. It always pays to play! This session is such a great example of a Denver Engagement Session!
