It’s taken me a while to get this one to the blog, but I absolutely loved this summer Boulder Family Session. The Levy family came to Colorado from Brooklyn to stay with family during covid. A good place to get a little space from a big city! The couple was actually married in Boulder and had taken photos in Chautauqua Park! It was only fitting that when the Levys returned with their son they wanted to do their family session in Chautauqua Park again.
Between wild fires and weather, it took us a few days to finally make it outside in this beautiful spot. Within 10 minutes of arriving, it started to rain again! We held out for a few photos and then hid away to let some of the rain pass. We finally decided to embrace the sprinkles and finish our session as planned. Even with the overcast skies and all of us started to get a bit wet, this is one of my favorite family sessions from this year. I just love how the cloudy skies allowed the green on the mountain to stand out.
Boulder Family Session
We had so much fun- even with the rain- walking around the foothills in Chautauqua Park.
I often prefer and shoot in higher sun (the norm for Colorado) but the way the clouds and the light muted the tones and colors from this session is just lovely. These photos are also one of the few family sessions I shot on film this year and as usual, I love the results!
