Summer Magic in Telluride

This Telluride Colorado Session was such a treat! Erin contacted me months before she planned to be in Colorado shooting a wedding herself! Her and husband Blayne would also end end up being here for their anniversary so Erin reached out and asked if I would photograph them. Much to my delight they would be in Telluride, one of the most beautiful places in Colorado! Erin being a photographer herself, I asked her to keep an eye out for any spots she really loved while she was there a few days. We decided that Valley Floor was the favorite and I added a few other spots to round out our session!

Telluride Colorado Session

We started our afternoon at a little spot just off the main road that I had found just a few days before. I loved this back drop because it would be back lit in the late afternoon and had a stunning view of the mountains. In Telluride, many of the major mountains face West so morning sessions can be better for back lightening. But have no fear, these views are gorgeous any time of the day! Here’s a fun fact: the range we faced at our first spot is the mountain that the Coors beer logo is taken from! My clients the next day told me that!

After my secret spot, we headed over to Valley Floor where Erin had scoped a few days earlier. Valley Floor is such a cool setting with the iconic San Sophia range behind it and lush valley and river at your feet. Shooting with direct sun isn’t usually my first choice but I think these photos are so beautiful and I just can’t get over that backdrop! We wandered the Valley Floor and near the river. One of my favorite little spots is a small walking bridge over a tiny stream of the river. Then we headed West just away from the Valley and found a gorgeous spot right on the river bank where we finished our session.

No words can describe how beautiful this little piece of heaven is! That’s why a Telluride Colorado Session is a must!
